Sassy Comebacks for Body Shaming

Body shaming, body shaming everywhere. How much are you going to bare?

Therefore, I bring to you sassy comebacks for all those nasty comments that the society has been throwing at you. This is the last and final part of my Body Shaming series, part 4; you can read part 1, 2 and 3, here.

You don't always have to reply to the shamers, ignoring is the best policy; however, sometimes it gets too much to take and some verbal fight back is required. This is for yourself, to save your dignity and to shut down those who shame, thus discouraging them to be mean to someone else. The thing is, maybe they don't even realize that there is damage happening by their comment, thus sometimes, expressing that you're offended brings it to their notice. Once this is brought to their attention, 90% of these people will think before passing a comment next time, because most people want to be nice to others and are good at heart (at least I believe this!).

So if you ever happen to find yourself as a victim? Don't play victim anymore, and use some of these comebacks with sass!

Fate shamed? Try these:

Scenario 1: “Hey have you put on some weight since the last time I saw you?”
Response: “Not at all! I am actually healthier than ever before, I look great right?

Scenario 2: “Don't eat that, you are just getting fatter!”
Response: “I will stop eating it, but only when I want to.”

Thin shamed? Use these:

Scenario 1: “Come on! Finish the remaining food, you need it, you are so thin…”
Response: “I know I am thin, not a garbage truck. I am done. Thanks!”

Scenario 2: “Men/ women don't like boys/ girls who are so thin. You should put on some weight.”
Response: “Really! Then thank God I am not into men/women.”

Too much racism for you? Check these out:

Scenario 1:  “You are a little too dark for this color...”
Response: “Ever heard of the black beauty? My favourite colours are black and brown which colors do you like?”

Scenario 2: “Maybe you should put on some makeup to make you look a tone or two fairer!”
Response: “Sure, who do you want me to be? Angelina Jolie/ Brad Pitt?? With makeup I can fake any identity except mine ...”

You height is being judged? See if these work for you!

Scenario 1: “Hey you are like a tree, up in the sky and you keep growing...!”
Response: “Well at least I am higher than you, in height and in IQ!

Scenario 2: “ Shorty! You are kid of the group!”
Response: “Yes, I am okay with my height, because little things matter the most in life.”

If someone calls you too muscular:

Scenario 1:  “So much muscle doesn’t suit women.”
Response: “...and so much judgement doesn’t suit humans.”

Scenario 2: “Oh my! That is way too much muscle on you, you're not my type.”
Response: “Thank God I didn't work so hard to please you, or else my efforts would have been wasted. I did it for myself and I love my body.”

So guys! Let’s get out there and break the habit of body shaming others and ourselves. There is so much more to a person than their appearance like, personality, charm, talents, skills and HUMANITY. The next time you look at someone, try to notice the smile on their face, or the shine in their eyes, these little things will bond you to the persona and not just the person. I urge you all to take some time and fall in love with yourself, to end body shaming start from your own body.
If you liked my series, reach out to me and say hi; it will be my pleasure to know you. Of course, like this article, share and comment. Let’s discuss as a community.
Be beautiful in multiple ways! Be happy always!
